Scott Olson Memorial Scholarship

Named in memory of our former President, the Scott Olson Memorial Scholarship is awarded to FFSC skaters to assist with the costs of competition and testing.
Requirements to be considered for a scholarship:
- Eligible skaters: Full members of FFSC, including Learn to Skate instructors and board members. Applicants must have been members of FFSC for at least one year
- Ineligible skaters: Associate members, and professional skaters (including coaches)
- Must be in good standing with FFSC and USFSA
- 10 documented volunteer hours, per skater (filled by skater or parent), per quarter. All volunteer hours except Ice Monitor may be counted (Ice Monitors get an ice fee discount.) All hours must be documented by filling out a Volunteer Hours form which must be signed by a board member
- 3.0 GPA or better, a teacher recommendation, or a letter of recommendation. If claiming a 3.0 GPA, a copy of the skater's most recent report card must be attached to the scholarship application
- Two paragraph essay written by the skater describing how the skater will benefit from the scholarship
- Complete the Scholarship Application
Scholarship applications will be reviewed by the Scholarship Committee and submitted to the Board for approval. You can turn in your application to any board member.
Scholarship Amounts
Competitions: Award of $100 for one competition
Test fees: $50 per test
Travel costs for out of state competitions: $100
Maximum scholarship amount $250 per skater per skating year (July-June)
